I am excited to share some great news for our T.A. Brown community regarding the 2017-2018 school year! We will be moving to a portable campus at Mollie Barrington Elementary School located at 400 Cooper Drive. This plan will be in place for at least 2-5 years.
The Administrative Supervisors for Area 2 will be helping us to systematically transition to our new location. We will work collaboratively in creating effective systems to open at the new location.
Since our transition on Nov. 3, 2016, T.A. Brown has been surrounded by servant leaders. I am grateful to Ms. Corrine Saenz who opened her school to us in a time of need and accommodated us immediately during the 2016-2017 school year! Now, Mrs. Gilma Sanchez, Principal at Mollie Barrington, has agreed to be our sister school, and I am thankful! As a result, our school community will be together on one site and much closer to our scholars’ homes.
Barrington Elementary is no stranger to a handful of T.A. Brown staff members, including myself. Interestingly, the circle of life brings me back to where I started my teaching career in 1990. This familiarity will help us with the transition.
I would like to recognize Mr. Gilbert Hicks (Area 2 Associate Superintendent) and everyone who worked with him in seeking the best solution for our community! They listened to our feedback throughout this process and responded with our priorities in mind.
Please feel free to send me your questions. I will continue to share updates as available.
Veronica Sharp, Principal of T.A. Brown
