Katie Avila is from Hartford, Connecticut. She attended Northeastern University and received a B.S. in Psychology. She has taught for ten years. She loves "watching students grow academically, socially, and emotionally over the course of the year." She also loves learning from her students and their experiences. Mrs. Avila enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Albar Elizondo is from Laredo, Texas. He attended The University of Texas at Austin where he received a B.S. in Bilingual/ESL Education and a Master's degree in Education Administration. He has twenty-six years of experience in education: seventeen years as a teacher, five years as an administrator, and four years as an instructional specialist. Mr. Elizondo's interests include the artists Frida Kahlo and Salvidor Dali and also writing. He enjoys receiving graduation and wedding invitations from his former students and celebrating milestones with them. Mr. Elizondo appreciates the growth, the maturity, and the responsibility, his students leave his classroom with by the end of the year. He lives by the quote: "I shall pass this way but once; any good that I can do or any kindness I can show to any human being; let me do it now.
