She also loves how much kids teach her about life and believes that teaching helps her to be a more patient and compassionate person. Mrs. Dickson grew up on the deep south side of San Antonio, Texas. She is a retired teacher returning to part-time teaching because she is still in love with the profession. Ms. Dickson has both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Education with teaching certificates in Deaf Education, Elementary Education, Special Education, and K-8 music. Ms. Dickson is best friends with her husband of thirty-two years. She admits to being an avid Trekkie and owning all the Star Trek episodes and movies. She tries to attend as many Comic Con conventions as she possibly can. Ms. Dickson enjoyes spending time with her husband and dog, volunteering at her church, using her computer and iPad, editing and making short movies, painting, writing, swimming, and tutoring students in sign language/computer/ESL/ and other academic areas. She has one daughter who lives in Washington, D.C. Mrs. Dickson believes that all students can learn and achieve high expectations when learning is presented in a positive, safe environment.
