She has received recognitions from the New York Golden Classical Music Awards and the American Protégé Competition in New York, for the extraordinary dedication and achievement in the field of teaching music and presenting students to perform at Carnegie Hall.

Fourth and Fifth Grade English Teacher

Jennan Sliman

Hello! My name is Jennan Sliman and this will be my fifth year teaching 4th grade.  This year, I've been accepted into AISD's Leadership Pathways for Problem-Based Learning and am so excited to continue learning and growing with all of our Reilly students!
Before I started teaching in AISD, I worked at shelter for asylum seekers and and also taught in a few different capacities---adult ESL, university TA, and at a high school in France.  I love working with this age group because my students are so curious and funny---it's an honor to watch and guide them as they grow throughout the year. My hope for every student is that they leave our classroom feeling empowered by all that they've learned and supported by our community.
When I'm not at school, I'm spending time outdoors--whether in Austin or traveling abroad.  I raise chickens in my backyard and expand my vegetable garden every season.  My husband and I enjoy camping with our dog and taking him to run in the greenbelts.  In fact, this year I've applied to become a Central Texas Master Naturalist and look forward to sharing that knowledge with the Reilly community!
