Cafeteria Service

Both breakfast and lunch can be obtained at school. The school cafeteria serves breakfast from 7:10am until 7:35am each morning. Lunch is served from approximately 10:30am until 12:30pm, with each class having a total of 30 minutes for lunch.

Each student has a lunch account and is assigned a cafeteria PIN number. Caregivers may send cash to school via the teacher or can deliver cash directly to the cafeteria, or can pay online. Caregivers may designate whether children may use the money for milk only, meals, snacks, etc. If no preference is noted, children will be allowed to purchase any item in the line. When your account is getting low, the cafeteria staff will tell your child, notices will be sent home via the backpack, and/or on-line alert notices will occur. Once the account balance reaches zero, the student will be provided up to two more hot meals on credit. Due to the inability to receive reimbursement for more than two hot meals, the cafeteria will provide a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and milk until the account is caught up. Applications for free or reduced meals are available through the office.

Menus

 AISD lunch menus are designed to meet federal guidelines set forth by the Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act of 2010 which are based on the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Servings of legumes, dark green vegetables and red or orange vegetables are available for all students weekly. All lunches include an entrée, a whole grain item, two servings of vegetables, at least one serving of fruit and low fat or skim milk. Students may select all five components or at least three components including a serving of vegetable or fruit. Meals are priced as a unit; however, each item is available a la carte.

• AISD menus are subject to change due to nationwide supply chain issues and food service worker shortages.

Lunch Visitor Guidelines 

We welcome you to join your student for lunch Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Please review the guidelines below prior to your visit:

Arrive 5-10 minutes before your student's lunch. Sign in with our front office (have ID ready). Receive your Visitor's Sticker. Once it is time for your student's lunch, go into the cafeteria and sit at the visitor's tables that are in front of the stage. 

When your student arrives, they can come sit with you. We are only allowing students to eat with their families, not friends. Return your student to their class cafeteria table a few minutes before their lunch ends. Parents/Caregivers are not allowed to bring food that is meant to be shared with other students or whole classes. Sign out in the front office before exiting the building. If you are going to attend more than one lunch and there is time between, please plan to wait in the front office or in your car until your next child’s lunch time. 

Pautas para visitantes durante el almuerzo:

Llegue de 5 a 10 minutos antes del almuerzo de su estudiante. Regístrese en la oficina principal (tenga su identificación a la mano) y reciba su calcomanía de visitante. Cuando comience el horario de almuerzo de su estudiante, diríjase a la cafetería y tome asiento en las mesas para visitantes ubicadas frente al escenario.

Cuando su estudiante llegue, podrá sentarse con usted. Solo se permite que los estudiantes coman con sus familias, no con amigos. Lleve a su estudiante de regreso a la mesa de su clase en la cafetería unos minutos antes de que termine su horario de almuerzo. Por último, registre su salida en la oficina principal antes de salir del edificio. Si va a asistir a más de un almuerzo y hay tiempo entre ellos, por favor planee esperar en la oficina principal o en su automóvil hasta la hora del almuerzo de su siguiente hijo.
