Deyanira Chavez
I’m Deyanira Chavez, I’m excited to be working as a school counselor at Reilly Elementary for my fifth year! I am passionate about social-emotional learning and helping kids find their “AH-HA’ moments! I live with my husband, son Diego, and our two dogs, Chika and Nova. I grew up in Chihuahua, Mexico and for my undergraduate degree I attended the University of Texas at El Paso. I went on to receive my Master in Education in School Counseling at Our Lady of the Lake in San Antonio. My role here at Reilly is to help ALL students, parents, and school staff navigate through academic, personal, and social development. You will find me visiting classrooms, teaching counseling lessons, facilitating small counseling groups, and meeting individually with students for short-term solution-focused sessions. I also meet with parents and teachers regarding student behaviors and attendance. I enjoy organizing and implementing school-wide initiatives and events (No Place For Hate, College Day, Career Day, etc.)

Soy Deyanira Chávez, ¡estoy muy contenta de trabajar como consejera escolar en la escuela de Reilly por mi quinto año! ¡Me apasiona el aprendizaje social y emocional y ayudar a los niños a encontrar sus momentos "AH-HA"! Vivo con mi esposo, mi hijo Diego, y nuestros dos perros, Chika y Nova. Crecí en Chihuahua, México y para obtener mi bachillerato asistí a la Universidad de Texas en El Paso. Recibí mi maestría en educación en consejería escolar en la Universidad de Our Lady of the Lake en San 9.5 organizar e implementar iniciativas y eventos en nuestra escuela (No hay lugar para el odio, el día de la universidad, el día de la carrera, etc.)
